Mecklenburg County Council Training Site
Training is an important part of learning to become a leader and functioning as a leader. The scouting position you have accepted is easier once you know how to do the job and you have learned those job skills from other scouters who have already been in the same position that you are in now. Our goal is to provide you with the necessary training opportunities to make you successful in your Scouting role, whether you are new to Scouting and your position or you are a seasoned Scouter.
All adult leaders meeting with our youth must be trained to position. The Training Trail describes what training is available for your position. The Training Event Schedule is a comprehensive list of training events offered through the Council. The Training Course Schedule provides a list of major courses that are either required for your position or are certification courses. Please check this schedule frequently as it changes often. Training may also be provided on a special request basis. Click here for an explanation of our policy on special training requests.
If you have questions about training or would like to schedule specific training for your unit, contact your District Training Chair. All the districts and their training chairs are listed on the District Training Chairs page.
There are a number of Training Knots that go along with the Training Opportunities. Check out our Training Awards page to download applications for the many awards available for adult leaders.
Remember, to do your Scouting job the best you can, you need training so you can be your best. Thank you for serving our youth.
