Boy Scouting and Varsity Scouting Training Trail

A cornerstone of the Scouting program is training. There are many opportunities available to youth and adults at various levels to further develop your skills. Some of these trainings will be conducted in your unit; others are available for you to work on by yourself. A Scout leader is entitled to wear the Trained leader emblem when he or she has completed some basic but important training courses. Belk Scout Camp (map)
This 16 hour course will introduce the participant to skills necessary to handle basic first aid emergencies in a wilderness setting. The course combines lecture with hands-on application of material covered in class. Successful completion of this course certifies the student in WFA for a period of two years and meets the requirements for Philmont and other high adventure camps.
